Leather canteen.
A medium-sized canteen, useful for short trips. It is a more economical leather version of the well-known and well-attested ceramic canteens.
The most popular form of this type of canteen is the so-called “pilgrim’s flask“, visible at least since the Mycenaean period onward to the Classical period and beyond.
Our leather canteen is made rigid by boiling the leather in water. The inside of the canteen is made waterproof by using wax. Finally, a practical cord allows the canteen to be carried over the shoulder.
An ideal piece for the historical reenactor of any era, who wants to ensure they always have a supply of water with them without having to compromise on modern materials.
