Long spearhead.
Throughout history, warriors from a wide variety of civilizations and cultures have shared one common weapon: the spear. Originating as a hunting weapon in prehistoric times, its simplicity has made it extremely effective over the millennia. A spear could be handed to any warrior, more or less trained, and turned into the deadly element of a compact and cohesive phalanx.
Not all spears are the same, however: depending on the civilization and historical period, different shapes of spears and pikes evolved to meet specific tactical and cultural needs. Thus, spears of different sizes, and spearheads of different shapes and sizes, are found.
This large spearhead was designed to be used on a long, two-handed spear, at some point in ancient and medieval history. It could have been a Macedonian sarissa, a Lombard spear, or a menavlion used by the Eastern Romans.
