Res Bellica, An Italian Company Dedicated to Historical Reenactment
Res Bellica is an Italian company specializing in the distribution, the design and production of historically accurate reproductions for historical reenactment.
Our catalog features a carefully curated selection of high-quality replicas from the world’s most trusted manufacturers.
Through our Italica line, we design and produce our own historically accurate reproductions, while also providing specialist historical consultancy and educational content.
Our team is composed by historians, archaeologists, skilled craftsmen, and experienced reenactors dedicated to researching and reconstructing the past.
Every reproduction is developed through rigorous study of historical sources, experimental archaeology, and continuous comparison with the latest archaeological and historical evidence.
Our Mission: Building a Deeper Connection with the Past
“[…] the past generations […] are in our bones – unknown to us; and when we listen, they listen too.”
H. Zimmer, “The King and the Corpse”
Borrowing the words and ideas of Heinrich Zimmer, when we reenact “perhaps some vague ancestral self of which we are not aware nods approvingly at hearing its old story again, and rejoices to recognize once more what was once part of its ancient wisdom”.
Here you will find historians and archaeologists, experienced consultants who, through meticulous and passionate research, guide reenactors to connect with their ancestral self and keep the tale of the ancient world alive.
This is why Res Bellica is unique. And we will make your reenactment experience truly unique.
Our Work
Since 2009, we have been helping ancient historical reenactors achieve the highest standards of historical accuracy, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the past.
We provide everything needed to recreate a complete ancient panoply: from helmets and shields to swords, armour, footwear, and belts.
We carefully select the finest commercially available reproductions from trusted manufacturers while also handcrafting bespoke pieces tailored to each client’s needs.
The result is a range of unique, historically accurate, and fully customized reproductions designed to fullfill the needs of our customers.
How We Work: The Res Bellica Method
Our expertise in history and archaeology is the foundation of everything we do and enables us to guarantee the quality and historical accuracy of every reproduction we offer.
Every project begins with the careful study and analysis of historical and archaeological sources. Research always comes first.
We work closely with our clients (including historical reenactors, reenactment groups, museums, film and documentary productions, educators, and historical consultants) to understand their goals and requirements.
Together, we evaluate every project in light of the available historical and archaeological evidence, identifying the most accurate and authentic solution.
This is the Res Bellica Method: a research-driven approach that combines historical scholarship, archaeological evidence, and skilled craftsmanship to transform our clients’ ideas into historically faithful reproductions and successful projects.
